Why yoga at LoveYour.Studio is different from yoga at a gym

A gentle, honest comparison — written by Marcio, founder
You can do yoga almost anywhere in Farnborough now. There's a class on the timetable at every gym in town, and yoga is included in your membership. So why come somewhere else? You deserve a straight answer before you choose where to roll out your mat.
Here it is — four things that genuinely make yoga at LoveYour.Studio different, an honest look at what gyms offer in return, and an invitation at the end. No spin.
1. Yoga is the whole point here — not one slot in a timetable of a hundred
We are the only dedicated yoga studio in Farnborough — a whole building built for one thing.

At a gym, yoga shares the calendar with loud spin, sweaty HIIT, join knacker body pump, punchy boxing. The teacher might be brilliant — many are — but the room is a fitness studio: bright lights, shoe dirty floor, a class of weights starting next door.
At LoveYour.Studio, the whole building exists for yoga. Soft light. Wooden floor. Palo santo in the air. The room was designed, from the first sketch, for slow breath and long holds. When you walk in, your nervous system understands — before your mind does — that this is a different kind of place.
That doesn't make us better at every moment of your day. It makes us better at this one.
2. We don't just hire teachers — we grow them
We don't hire teachers off a rota. We grow them slowly, in a lineage, into the kind of teacher you'd want guiding you for the next twenty years.

LoveYour.Studio is also a school for yoga teachers.
Our Foundation 200-hour Teacher Training starts in September, alongside our Integrative 500-hour Teacher Training and our new Yogic Breath & Yogic Mindfulness (Pranayama & Dhāraṇā) 100-hour course beginning in October. All accredited with Yoga Alliance Professionals and rooted in the Sanatan and Gitananda traditions.
What this means for you — even if you never want to teach a single class — is that the people guiding you have been formed slowly, in a real lineage. They don't appear from a weekend intensive. Many of them studied here, trained here, and now teach here. So could you.
We grow versatile teachers — people who can hold a chair-yoga class for an 80-year-old at 11am and a strong, sweaty Vīrya at 6:30pm, and bring the same depth to both. Sanskrit enough to honour the tradition, English enough to translate it kindly.
When you study here, you're not just attending classes — you're stepping into a respected, growing family. That family is the thing.
3. Our classes follow a path — and we still teach the names you know
We offer specialised yoga — not generic group fitness with a yoga label. Six curated families with their sequences of our own, alongside the well know Vinyasa, Yin, Hatha and Restorative you already know - soon pilates too!

We've curated five class families of our own, each carefully designed so you can find the practice you need today: for energy, for recovery, for evolving your body and mind over time.
Ārambha — Start Here. For complete beginners. Gentle, slow, foundational.
Sukham — Easeful Flow. Soft, restorative-based. The body finds the breath.
Kriyā — Cleanse & Reset. Movement-based yogic techniques to clear and renew.
Āsana — Build & Align. Posture-led work for strength and alignment.
Vīrya — Strength & Agility. Vinyasa-style. For those who want challenge with discipline.
Tapas — Warm Practices. Not hot but hot enough to make you brink a sweat.
But we don't stop there. We also teach the names you already know and love — Vinyasa, Yin, Restorative, Hatha — and our gentle, therapeutic Yoga Cikitsa (Chair Yoga) for anyone who needs to practise seated, recover from injury, or come back to their body slowly. Soon we will bring Pilates - even if we keep saying g our Kriya Practice is the precursor of Pilates and the original stuff.
When you come to us, you'll meet our sequences and you'll meet your old friends. The difference is that with us, you'll learn what those familiar names actually mean, and you'll feel — in your body, not just your head — why yoga truly is for everyone.
4. Almost 40 classes a week, from 7:30am to 7:30pm
Nearly 40 classes a week, from 7:30am to 7:30pm — a class for every body, at almost every hour a person actually practises.
A 24-hour gym lets you train at 5am or midnight. We don't, and we won't pretend otherwise.
But here is what we do offer: classes running, soon earlier but for now, from 7:30 in the morning until 7:30 in the evening, with close to 40 classes a week to choose from. Early-morning grounding, lunchtime resets, after-work flows, weekend deep-dives. Beginners, intermediate, advanced. Strong, gentle, restorative.
If you can practise during normal human hours, you will find a class that fits your week — every week.
What gyms offer (and what we offer in return)
They sell machines, pools and 24-hour access. We offer breath, bodyweight, lifestyle and teachers who knows your name. Different products entirely.
I want to be fair to our neighbours. The honest comparison:
Pools, saunas, big changing rooms. We don't have those. But — how often does the pool actually heal what aches?
Rooms full of machines and weights. We don't have those either. We offer bodyweight practice that builds real, lifelong strength. Pranayama that science now links to longevity, sleep, blood pressure and mood. Guidance on diet and lifestyle — you only have to ask. None of it sold as a £40 supplement subscription.
24/7 access. We offer 12 hours a day of curated and dedicated practice, taught by humans who know your name.
The lowest price. We offer reasonable pricing — our most popular Committed membership works out at around £6 per class at three classes a week.
Less than a London pint, less than a coffee and a pastry, and close to a single drop-in anywhere else. The difference is the room you walk into, the teacher who greets you, and the path you're invited to walk.
And — we're a good bunch, without expectations
There are no expectations at our door. You don't need the right leggings, the right body, or the right reason to be here. You only need to walk in.

We take yoga seriously. We don't take ourselves too seriously. You don't need the right leggings, the right body, the right vocabulary, or the right reason. You don't need to be flexible. You don't need to be calm. You don't need to be anyone but who you already are every morning.
The hardest part is walking through the door. Once you do, we take care of the rest.
So — which is for you?
Choose a gym if you want yoga as part of a wider fitness routine, on your own schedule, at the lowest possible price. You might get stronger, you might get to do worse for your body and stress levels.
Choose LoveYour.Studio if you want yoga to be the thing itself — the slow, patient, lifelong practice that changes the way you breathe, sleep, think, and meet the world.
And, if it calls you, where you might one day become a teacher.
If you're not sure, the cheapest way to find out is to try. Our Welcome Offer gives you 30 days of unlimited classes for £35. Come as often as you like. Try every teacher. Sit in a chair yoga, sweat through a Vīrya, soften into a Sukham.
Our promise to you — your money back if it isn't for you
Try 10 classes. If yoga genuinely isn't for you, we'll give you your £35 back. We put our money where our mat is.
Try 10 classes on the Welcome Offer. If yoga genuinely isn't for you — we'll refund your £35 in full. No awkward conversations. No forms. We'll thank you for trying, and you'll have given yourself something most people never do: a real, fair chance to find out.
Bring your friends — the door is always open
Bring up to four different friends with you over the month. The hardest part of yoga is walking through the door — most of us are braver with company.

As a new student on the Welcome Offer, you can bring up to four different friends to try a class with you over the month. One friend at a time. Whether they fall in love with yoga or just enjoy a quiet hour in a beautiful room — they're welcome.
That's how our community has grown. One person crosses the threshold, and quietly brings another.
With warmth,
Marcio
