Yoga for everyone — and how to find your class with us

Most people who walk into our studio for the first time tell us a version of the same story.

They tried yoga once, in a gym, in a class with fifty other people. The class is normally a strong vinyasa and the teacher was normally dismissive of their entry level. They couldn't keep up. They left feeling that yoga wasn't for them. Some never went back.

We hear that story so often it almost hurts. Because the truth is the opposite.

Yoga is for everyone. The class wasn't right for them — that's all.

We've always offered yoga for every level — gentle, mindful, strong, therapeutic, warm.

What we've done now is make it easier to see. Clearer names, a simple scale of difficulty, and the seven families laid out so that whatever body and mood you arrive in, you can find the class that fits you today.

A person shows up for work day after day, and over the years builds their riches. The same is true on the mat. You show up, week after week, and you build a different kind of wealth — a body that moves well, a mind that holds steady, a nervous system that knows how to come home. Invest in your future longevity. The mat compounds.

This is how it works.

Yoga is a practice of resetting

Yoga isn't a workout. It's not a stretching club. It's not a way to get better at handstands.

loveyour.studio - person resting and resetting in their yoga class

Yoga is what you come back to. A regular practice of resetting the body and the mind — bringing the breath, the nervous system, and the muscles back to neutral, again and again, week after week. The stronger your reset, the more you can carry between resets.

That's why one good class doesn't change much. Twenty good classes change the way you sleep, the way you stand, the way you respond to a long Monday. Yoga rewards consistency more than intensity.

And consistency is only possible when you're in the right class. A class that's too hard makes you miss next week. A class that's too easy makes you stop coming. The right class makes you want to come back.

loveyour.studio - our level scale

A scale of 1 to 9 — pick the class that matches your day, not your ego

Every class on our schedule now sits on a clear 1-to-9 scale.

  • 1 Arrive · 2 Settle · 3 Ground — first time on a mat, returning after a break, or a body that needs gentle.

  • 4 Move · 5 Flow · 6 Build — comfortable on the mat, ready to move, ready to grow.

  • 7 Refine · 8 Strengthen · 9 Embody — years of practice, ready to deepen the work.

loveyour.studio. -our level scale

Most classes span two or three levels — Foundation (3-5), Practice (5-7), Mastery (7-9) — and we'll tell you exactly where each one sits. So when you book, you know.

Pick the class that matches your day, not your ego. A 7 on Monday might be a 3 on Friday. That's not weakness. That's the practice.

Seven families — choose by the kind of practice you need

Beyond the level, every class belongs to a family — a tradition or style. Knowing the family helps you choose by feel, not just by difficulty.

Family

What it is

Ārambha

Gentle Starts — the kind entry point for new bodies, returning bodies, and anyone fearful of yoga

Sukham

Easy & Comfortable — floor-based, restful, restorative

Kriyā

Mindful Action — accessible flow, breath leading movement

Āsana

Embodied Strength — alignment, structure, the work of posture

Vīrya

Empowered Courage — strong, dynamic flow, stamina and resilience

Cikitsā

Therapeutic & Mindful — recovery, breath, balance, 58PLUS friendly

Tāpas

Transformative Heat — our warmed-room family, new on the schedule

If you've ever wanted to try a heated class without the chaos of a hot-room studio in central London, Tāpas is for you. The room is warm enough that muscles open and alignment deepens, but the class is still teacher-led, still grounded, still readable.

In classical yoga, tāpas means transformative heat — the inner warmth that builds through committed practice. In our studio, it means that, and it means the literal heat in the room. Both kinds of warmth do the same thing: they soften what was rigid.

58PLUS — because 58 is a special age in yoga

58PLUS discount

In the yogic tradition, (around) 58 marks a particular threshold.

Life is traditionally seen in stages. The first stage is learning. The second is building — career, family, household, the long stretch of doing things for others. Around 58 begins the next stage: the gentle turn back toward yourself. Not retirement. Not stepping away. The transition from caring for the household to caring, properly, for the self.

Yoga belongs in this stage of life more than any other. It supports the joints, calms the nervous system, keeps the body strong and the mind clear. It also gives back the time and attention that have been spent outwards for decades.

58PLUS discount

So we discount our memberships for the 58PLUS community. Whatever you choose to practise — mindful movement, posture work, the warm room, therapeutic, all of it — your monthly plan costs less.

  • 2 classes per week: £54 (standard £64)

  • 3 classes per week: £62 (standard £72)

  • 5 classes per week: £78 (standard £92)

  • Unlimited: £100 (standard £120)

Members declare themselves at the door — no paperwork, no proof, just trust. And you're not limited to one family or one style. Every class on the schedule is open to you.

How to start

For most people, the right place to begin is our Kriyā classes — Mindful Movement, Flow in Motion — together with Posture Foundation in the Āsana family. These sit at Level 3-5, our "all levels" centre of gravity. You don't need experience. You don't need to be flexible. You need to show up.

From there, settle in for a few weeks. Once you've found your feet, branch out: try a different teacher, a different family, a Tuesday warm room evening, a Saturday morning. The schedule is designed for this kind of exploring.

If you'd rather keep things gentle — because you're new, returning after a break, recovering, or simply want a quieter practice — start in Ārambha. Catherine's Gentle Yoga is built for exactly this: 37 years as an NHS nurse practitioner sit behind every cue she gives.

A note on levels: most of our classes span Level 4-6, the all-levels middle ground. People often start at 3 and explore upwards. If a class turns out to be the wrong fit — too soft, too strong, the wrong tone for your body that day — don't conclude yoga isn't for you. Try a different teacher. Try a different family. Try again. Finding your class is part of the practice.

And if you'd rather just ask, message us. We answer every message ourselves and we'll point you to the class that fits.

A welcome offer to find your class

We don't think one class tells you anything. So our welcome offer is 30 days of unlimited yoga for £35 — enough to try the families, the levels, and the teachers, and find the one or two classes you want to settle into.

We'd rather you come three times in a fortnight and find your home than book a single drop-in and disappear.

Can we do a 10 class if we've drunk too much coffee?
