I'm new to yoga. Which class should I start with?

Welcome! We recommend one of our four intro classes:

• Ārambha (Gentle & Kind): our gentlest class, with very little getting up and down from the floor. Try Gentle Foundations, Now or Stretch & Flow.
• Sukham (Easy & Comfortable): calm, breath-led yoga that stays on the floor. Try Breath & Pause.
• Kriyā (Breath & Balance): the same breath-led approach, coming up to standing. Try Mindful Movement.
• Āsana (Strength & Steadiness): learn the key postures properly, step by step. Try Posture Foundation.

Your first class is free with the code FIRSTFREE. After that, our Welcome Offer gives you 30 days of unlimited classes for £35.

How do your class levels work?

Accepted Answer

Every class shows a level range from 1 to 9, so you know what to expect.

• 1–3 Gentle: new to yoga, returning, or needing something kind.
• 4–6 Moving: some experience and happy to flow and work a little harder.
• 7–9 Strong: a regular practice and ready for more challenge.

The levels are a guide, not a test. There's no pressure to move up, and many experienced students love our gentler classes. If a teacher feels a lower level would be safer for you, they may gently suggest it.

What are your seven class families?

Our classes are grouped into seven families, each with its own feel:

• Ārambha (Gentle & Kind): our gentlest practice, with very little getting up and down from the floor.
• Sukham (Easy & Comfortable): calm, breath-led and floor-based.
• Kriyā (Breath & Balance): breath-led flows that come up to standing.
• Āsana (Strength & Steadiness): posture work, from foundations to advanced.
• Vīrya (Flow & Power): our vinyasa practices, flowing and heat-building.
• Tapas (Warm Practice): posture-based practice in a room warmed to 26 degrees.
• Cikitsā (Therapeutic & Mindful): targeted movement, breath and mindfulness to support recovery and calm.

Mixing families through the week, strong and gentle, is a lovely way to keep your practice balanced.

Question 4

I have an injury, a health condition or limited mobility. Can I join?

Accepted Answer

Yes, very likely. Please let your teacher know before class so they can offer options, props and a pace that suits you. You're always welcome to rest.

Good places to start are Ārambha, which keeps getting up and down from the floor to a minimum, and our Cikitsā classes, such as Chair Yoga. We also run free community chair classes: Chair Yoga on Tuesdays at 10:30 and Chair Exercise with Weights on Wednesdays at 14:30, with tea 30 minutes before.

If you'd like more personal support, a 1-2-1 yoga session may suit you best. If you're unsure, check with your GP first.

Question 5

What should I bring, and do you provide mats?

Just bring comfortable clothes you can move in and a bottle of water.

Mats are already laid out in the studio. You're welcome to bring your own mat, or a yoga towel to place on ours, if you prefer extra cushioning or your own kit.

Question 6

When should I arrive?

Accepted Answer

The studio opens 15 minutes before each class. If it's your first time, please arrive about 10 minutes early so we can say hello and help you settle in.

Classes start on time, so arriving a little early means you won't miss the beginning.

How do I book a class?

Accepted Answer

Choose a class from the timetable on our Classes & Prices page and book it online. If it's your first visit, add the code FIRSTFREE at checkout and your first class is free.

Already a member? You can book, change and manage everything in the Fit by Wix app.

Question 8

What if I need to cancel or change a booking?

Accepted Answer

No problem. There are no cancellation or no-show fees. Just change or cancel your booking online or in the app.

Memberships are rolling monthly with no minimum term, and you can cancel any time in the app with no notice needed.

Question 9

How much do classes cost?

Accepted Answer

• New here: your first class is free with FIRSTFREE, then 30 days of unlimited classes for £35.
• Daytime: weekday classes starting between 10:30 and 15:45 are £5, no membership needed.
• Drop in: £13 for any single class.
• Class packs: 5 classes for £55, or 10 for £100.
• Memberships: Twice a week £55, Unlimited £75, or Premium £100 a month (classes, shared workspace, a tea or coffee on us and 3 hours' free parking).
• Live online: £3 a class, or £30 a month.

Aged 58 or over? Ask us about 15% off Unlimited and Twice a week.

Question 10

What is the atmosphere like in class?

Calm, friendly and unhurried. Most of our classes are held in quiet or with soft background sound, though some teachers use music.

To keep the studio peaceful for everyone, please set your phone to silent, leave shoes outside the practice room, and save catching up for the café or lounge after class.
