September: Everything Comes Back
September has always felt more like the new year than January does. The evenings draw in, the routine comes back, and something in the body wants structure again.
So this month we are bringing everything back. The full timetable. Every family, every level, every teacher. Thirty-eight classes in the studio and online — plus the café, the workspace, and a few things we have wanted to do for a long time and can finally do properly.
Here is all of it, plainly.
What we are actually for

There is a lot of yoga available in Farnborough now, and most of it is fine. But we hear the same two disappointments from people who walk through our door.
The first is the class that was really a workout with some stretching at the end. Nothing wrong with a workout. It just is not yoga, and if you came looking for yoga you go home a little emptier than you arrived.
The second is harder to say out loud. It is the teacher who was warm and lovely and never actually taught you anything. Six months in, you are still doing the same shape the same way, nobody has corrected you, nobody has explained what the breath is for, and you have quietly concluded that you are not a yoga person.
You are a yoga person. You were badly served.
Many of us learned with wonderful teacher who know about the source like me and my new teachers. Many of our teachers went to India to do their training. Some learned with other teachers but get it that we are more than just hot yoga sweat or tight lycra - please! A few precious things go into every class: Love & passions for yoga: breath, movement, posture, rest. Not one of them as decoration. You will be told what you are doing and why. You will be corrected, kindly.
You should leave knowing something you did not know when you came in.
That is the whole promise. Everything below is just the shape of it.
How our levels work
Most studios say "all levels welcome" and leave you to guess, injured or doubting of yourself.
We put the level in the title of every single class, because being in the wrong room is the fastest way to give up on yoga.
Our scale runs from 1 to 9:
Levels 1–2 — genuinely new, returning after a long time, or working around an injury. Slow, spoken through, nothing assumed.
Levels 2–4 — you know the basic shapes. Now we build the breath into them.
Levels 3–5 — steady practice. Longer holds, more precision, real attention to alignment.
Levels 4–6 — you practise regularly. Sequences lengthen and the transitions start to matter.
Levels 5–7 — strong, continuous practice with genuine demand in it.
Levels 6–8 — advanced. Small numbers, high expectation.
Level 9 — the top of the scale. We do not currently run anything at 9 - but we can teach you to become a fameus contortionist, no trouble!

Alongside the level, every class carries a family name in Sanskrit, so you can see at a glance what kind of hour it will be:
Ārambha — the beginning. Gentle, foundational.
Sukham — ease. Restorative, slow, quiet.
Āsana — posture. Precision and alignment.
Kriyā — movement. Flowing, continuous.
Vīrya — power. Strength and stamina.
Cikitsā — therapeutic. Adapted, careful, for bodies that need it.
Tāpas — heat. Warm practice.
And a symbol tells you the setting: ☀️ is a daytime class, 🌍 is online, 💙 is a funded community class, 🩵 is a partner class.
Read a title like Yin Yoga · Sukham · Level 2-4 and you already know everything you need before you book. That is deliberate.

Thirty-eight classes, taught by Adrian, Darren, Megan, Kathryn, Cathy, Catherine Appleby, Louise Kidd, Natasha, Alan, Zuzana, Claire, Katy and Luke — and several taught by Marcio himself, which matters more than it sounds. A studio where the owner still teaches is a studio where the teaching standard is not delegated. It is also why our teacher training works: our trainees learn in the room, from the people who built it.
If you cannot afford yoga, we have you covered
This is the part we most wanted to say.
Wellington ward, where we sit, is first in England for income deprivation affecting older people. That is not a statistic you can read and then carry on charging everyone the same.
So from September/October we are running a free course — twelve sessions, possible more.

Not a one-off free class you attend once and never repeat. A proper course, in sequence, so that by the end you can actually practise. Six sessions to start and a review, and our commitment to carry you through to twelve — because six is where you learn the shapes and twelve is where it becomes yours.
It is free. There is nothing to pay, ever, for these places.
There are fourteen places. That is the size of the room and we are not going to pretend otherwise. When they are full we will open a waiting list and run the course again — everyone who asks gets a place eventually, and we will tell you honestly where you are in the queue.
Priority goes to people in current financial difficulty. If you are unemployed, on a low income, on benefits, or simply in a hard stretch right now and £5 for a class is £5 you do not have — you go to the front.
There is no form, no proof of income, no committee. Email hello@loveyour.studio, say you would like a place on the free course, and we will sort it quietly. Nobody in the room will know. Nobody will ask you again. We rely only in your honesty.
We can do this because the rest of the timetable pays for it. That is how it should work.
And there is more than one door in
The free course is not the only way in if money or health is in the way.
💙 Chair Yoga & Chair Exercise — Roots & Belonging is free and funded, for older people and anyone who needs to practise seated.
Three more are completely free, run here with partner charities:
🩵 Sport in Mind · Mindful Movement
🩵 Be Active · Flow in Motion
🩵 Silent Storms · Posture Foundation
You do not book these through us and you never pay us a penny for them. You register with the charity running the class and they place you. If you have been referred already, or you think you might qualify, email us and we will point you to the right people.
These classes exist because mental health and long-term inactivity are not problems you solve by telling someone to join a gym. They are held in the same rooms, by the same teachers, to the same standard as everything else on this page. Nobody is getting a lesser class because somebody else is paying for it.
What it costs if you can pay
We do not compete on price. We compete on whether the hour was worth having. But we have built the pricing so that money is rarely the reason somebody stops.
Daytime classes are £5. Any weekday class from 10:30am up to our last daytime class at 3:45pm. No code, no asking, no membership needed — the price is simply £5 when you book. Chair Yoga has just come down to £5 as well, so the whole daytime timetable now sits at one honest price. Our daytime rooms are quiet and our daytime teaching is some of the best we do, and we would rather they were full.
Online is £3, from anywhere in the world. Twenty-six live classes a week, the full range of families and levels, joined from wherever you are. And £2 of every £3 goes directly to the teacher taking the class. We built it that way on purpose. Teaching yoga has been badly paid for decades and we are not going to quietly repeat that.
Memberships bring it down further. Committed at £72 a month works out at roughly £5.54 a class at three a week. V.I.Yogi Unlimited at £100 a month is around £4.62 a class at five a week. Light is £64 a month for two a week. The 10 Class Pack is £100, the 5 Pack is £55, and a single in-studio drop-in is £13.
New here? The Welcome Offer is £35 for 30 days, unlimited. Everything on the list above, for a month, for less than three drop-ins.
Over 58? Use 58PLUS for 15% off any monthly membership. Committed becomes £61.20, Light becomes £54.40. It applies to monthly memberships, and you only need to be 58 or over.
Blue Light is coming. We are setting up a discount for emergency services, NHS and care staff, and we will announce it as soon as it is live. It is not a marketing exercise. We want to say thank you to the people who protect and care for the rest of us, and a cheaper yoga membership is the only way we know how.
The café and the workspace are back on Saturday 12 September

Sāmata Balance Bar returns on the second weekend of September — Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th, and every weekend after that.
We are open until 2pm on both Saturday and Sunday. Saturday morning there is fresh baking. Come after your class and stay for a coffee, or just come round — you do not need to have practised to sit down with us.
A word about the menu, because people ask. Everything is gluten free and the coffee is decaf, and both of those are on purpose. We are not going to spend an hour teaching you to be kinder to your body and then hand you something that undoes it on the way out. And here is the thing nobody believes until they try it: it tastes the same. Decaf coffee made properly is just coffee. A gluten-free cake baked properly is just cake. Come and prove us wrong.
Yoga members get 10% off at the bar. So do workspace members. And you can spend your Zen Points here too — 100 points buys you a coffee and a cake, or comes straight off your bill if you would rather put it towards something else. The points you earn practising now buy you cake, which is roughly the correct order of the universe.
We are still building the rest of the Zen Points scheme and we will explain it properly here soon.
The workspace — Jñāna Udyān (translated as Garden of Knowledge) — is properly open alongside it. It is a quirky room and it is meant to be. £3 a shift, £5 a day, £40 as a membership add-on, £80 standalone. Bring a laptop, work somewhere that is not your kitchen table, and drop into a £5 class at lunchtime without moving your car.
Rooms by the hour — start the thing you keep putting off
We have rooms, and we would rather they held your work than sat empty.
Room | What the name means | Per hour |
Abhyāsa Śāla — the big studio | Hall of Practice. Abhyāsa is steady, repeated practice — the daily returning that yoga is actually made of. | £35 |
Ānanda Bhavana — the small studio | House of Joy. Ānanda is bliss, the deep contentment underneath things rather than the excited kind. | £25 |
Jñāna Udyān — the workspace | Garden of Knowledge. Jñāna is knowing through realisation, not information. A garden, because it has to be tended and it grows at its own pace. | £20 |
Prajnā Ālaya — the office and training room | Abode of Wisdom. Prajnā is a step deeper than knowledge — the clear seeing that does not need to reason its way there. | £15 |
Cikitsā Kakṣa — two therapy rooms | Room of Healing. Cikitsā is treatment, care, the tending of what hurts. | £13 |
Dhyāna Kakṣa — the meeting room | Room of Meditation. Dhyāna is sustained attention — the state just before absorption. | £10 |
If you are a counsellor with a qualification and no room, a therapist building a client list, a facilitator with a circle in your head and nowhere to hold it — this is exactly what we are here for. Thirteen pounds an hour for a therapy room is not a business model. It is a door held open.
And we will advertise you. If you already practise here, we will put your service in front of our 2,516 contacts. Your sound bath, your circle, your workshop, your one-to-one work — we will list it, post it and send it out. We are not taking a cut and we are not asking for exclusivity.
We grow when the people in this building grow. That is not a slogan, it is arithmetic.
On-demand is being rebuilt
Our on-demand library is being revamped from the ground up — re-filmed, re-organised by the same families and levels as the live timetable, so that finding a class online is as clear as reading a title on the board.
It is coming this autumn and we will announce it here first. If you are already on Online Unlimited at £30 a month, you will get the whole new library at no extra cost.
And if you want to teach

Familiar faces if you come to the studio as they are teaching here! Congratulations to Amy, Louise and Cathy.
Our Foundation 200-hour teacher training starts on Sunday 27 September and runs on Sundays. Fifteen places, £2,000. Applications close on 20 September.
You keep your membership while you train, and all online classes are free for the duration of the course. You will be taught by the people who teach here, and you will teach here — the studio is the training ground, not somewhere you visit at the end.
If you have been circling this for a year, book a free fifteen-minute enquiry call and just ask your questions.
Come back in September
Everything is back on. Thirty-eight classes in the room & online from £3, the whole daytime timetable at £5, a free twelve-session course for anyone who needs one, a café and workspace open both days of the weekend until 2pm, and rooms you can rent for the price of a takeaway.
If you have not practised since July, no explanation required. Book something from the list and turn up.
And bear with us

One last thing, honestly said.
We are building all of this at once — the timetable, the free course, the café, the workspace, the rooms, the on-demand library — and we are a small studio doing it largely by hand. Some of it will not be perfect on the first weekend. A page will say the wrong thing. A class will move. The coffee machine will have opinions.
So please bear with us while we bring it all to you. We would rather open the doors a little rough and keep improving in front of you than wait another year for everything to be immaculate.
Which is, in fairness, the entire lesson.
Yoga teaches patience. It teaches you to let go of perfection — because the posture you are chasing is not the point, and the day you stop grasping at it is usually the day it arrives. It teaches you to be kind to yourself when your body will not do what it did last year, and kind to others when they are visibly struggling on the mat beside you.
We are trying to run the studio the way we teach the practice. Slowly, honestly, with room for it to be imperfect.
See you during September.

I love this post, it makes everything clearer as being away so much since July I felt I couldn’t come back as I missed so much. Now I know I can come back and fit in again. I love the way you explain the family names in Yoga. Will definitely be trying the coffee ☕️ soon . Thanks 🙏 Jenny
